Squat University
Today I’m going to give you a behind the scenes look into the training of one of the best weightlifters in the world today, and show you the core stability training he performs to help him lift massive weight.🏋🏼♀️
.Here’s Lu Xiaojun @luxiaojunbarbell performing a “stir the pot” on a swiss ball with cues from his physiotherapist @mohamedkine1 to maintain a level pelvis, braced core and only move the arms.✅
.
You see many athletes perform the classic front plank and while there’s not anything necessarily wrong with this, if you think about it – lifts in the weight room occur with a stable back and movement in the extremities.✅
.
Adding a ball allows us to make our core work more dynamic, so that you can train your core (like your transverse abdominus, rectus and obliques) to stabilize the spine while your arms move.
In his own words, Lu recently expressed how core exercises have been a crucial part of his training recently and he has seen a direct connection to his performance.🏋🏼♀️
.
Shout out to @luxiaojunbarbell for the collaboration in making today’s video & @3d4medical for the visual of the body from the Complete Anatomy app🙏🏼
