Do you struggle to with your split jerk technique like Brian @b_emejuru?🤔
.
Here’s some tips from 2x Olympian Chad Vaughn @olychad to perfect the split receiving position. Start by getting into a lunge position. Your front foot should be forward or toes angled in slightly and your legs should be the same width or slightly wider than your jerk set up position. From the side view your front shin should be vertical with your down knee, hips and shoulders in a vertical alignment and back toes curled under.📝
.
If you stand straight up from this position, your shoulders should stay directly over the hips. Next, bend both knees together slightly – you should feel most of the load/pressure on your trail leg (this is your stabilizer/balance leg). If so, this is your ideal split position.🏋🏼♀️
.
When you warm up, dip straight down (like you’re sliding your back down a wall) and pause. Your entire foot should be grounded (big toes down). After a small pause drive the bar up as you push yourself under the weight, landing in that ideal position you just created with the lunge drill. Front shin is vertical, shoulders are directly over the hips with an upright torso, slight bend in the back knee, with toes only on the ground (NO heel).🙌🏼
.
Shout out to Brian & Chad for their collaboration in making this video today🙏🏼
