Whether you’re 70 years old or 7 years old, lifting weights can be a safe activity if the following factors are considered.📝
.
First, does the training program emphasizetechnique quality? Every time you touch the barbell from your first rep to your heaviest set, you should aim to move with amazing technique. While there are MANY factors that increase risk of injury, the fastest way to find one in the weight room is to load a lot of weight on the bar and lift it with poor technique.❌
.
Next, are you working with a qualified coach? No matter if you’re just starting out touching the barbell for the first time, or if you’re now moving big weight, a coach is essential to learning the lifts and maximizing your potential.🏋🏼♀️
.
Last, are you using a training program that varies intensity of lifting? While we all see elite athletes put up big weight on social media, they also have light intensity days programmed into their training so they can recover and continue progressing.✅
